Tell us a bit about who you are and what you do!
I'm a jewelry designer and new mom based in Los Angeles. About a year ago, I launched my jewelry brand, Zoila, and these days my life is a mix of building the business while navigating motherhood with my gorgeous daughter. It's definitely a balancing act, but I genuinely love both worlds and documenting the process along the way.
How did you get started with content creation?
Content creation happened really organically! I started sharing the behind-the-scenes of building my jewelry brand while I was pregnant, and naturally that evolved into documenting what it's like to grow a business while becoming a first-time mom.
I enjoy sharing the things I'm learning as I go, whether that's entrepreneurship, motherhood, fashion, beauty, or products that genuinely make everyday life a little better. I've always loved curating a beautiful life, whether that’s building my dream business, shaping my physical space, or refining how I dress, so documenting that process has become something I really enjoy. I'm excited to see where it takes me over the next year!

How would you describe your personal style today, and what was the journey like to develop it?
My style has evolved over the years, but one thing has always stayed the same: I love dressing simply with quality pieces. My wardrobe is built around great denim, relaxed trousers, good basics, and vintage finds, and I use accessories to bring personality to those pieces.
That philosophy is also the foundation of Zoila. I believe you don’t need a complicated wardrobe to have great style - just the right jewelry can completely transform how an outfit feels. It can make something as simple as jeans and a tee feel intentional, personal, and put together.
These days, you’ll almost always find me in jeans, a baby tee or tank, and layered jewelry. I love wearing pieces I can stack and mix and match, especially combining gold and silver. I’m also a huge vintage lover - I have a bit of an obsession with collecting vintage jackets and coats.

We love what you're doing with your jewelry brand Zoila. Tell us more about what inspired you to start Zoila.
Zoila came from wanting to create something I genuinely couldn't find.
I've always loved the creative process of taking an idea from a sketch to a physical product. There's something incredibly rewarding about refining every detail and then seeing someone actually wear it.
When I looked at the jewelry market, I felt like there were two extremes. On one end were generic, dainty pieces that felt interchangeable, and on the other were highly stylized luxury brands that leaned more toward statement dressing or weren't accessible from a price perspective. I couldn't really find a brand that reflected the way I actually like to dress.
I live in simple outfits - great jeans, a tee, relaxed tailoring - and I wanted jewelry that made those outfits feel more interesting without overpowering them. I see jewelry as a styling tool rather than the centerpiece of an outfit. It's the finishing touch that adds personality and makes you feel more like yourself.
That's what Zoila is all about: creating thoughtfully designed jewelry that's distinctive enough to stand out but effortless enough to wear every day. Pieces you collect over time, mix together, and reach for again and again because they become part of your personal style.

What has been the biggest challenge and biggest reward from having your own business?
The biggest challenge is definitely wearing every hat! One day I'm designing jewelry, the next I'm packing orders, planning content, answering customer emails, or figuring out marketing strategy. There are always a hundred things to do. Another huge challenge is sticking with it and continuing forward after really hard days or when you don’t see results right away. Being an entrepreneur and starting your own business really shows you what you're made of and what you're capable of - especially doing that while becoming a mom (and breastfeeding!) at the same time.
At the same time, that's also one of the biggest rewards! I love being involved in every part of building something of my own from scratch and seeing an idea become a real brand. Watching people choose to spend their own money on something you created is such a special feeling, and knowing they're making Zoila part of their everyday wardrobe never gets old.
We know you're also a brand new mom! Has motherhood changed your relationship with getting dressed or shifted your personal style at all?
Absolutely. Becoming a mom has felt like stepping into an entirely new version of myself. It really does feel like your old self disappears, and you get this blank canvas to rediscover who you are. It’s definitely a challenging feeling, but overall I've found it incredibly freeing.
Motherhood has also made me simplify my wardrobe in the best way. I don't have the time or energy to stand in front of my closet with the “but what do I wear?!” panic anymore, so I've become much more intentional about building a capsule wardrobe filled with pieces that all work together.
I love having that simple foundation - great denim, easy basics, timeless staples - and then expressing my personality through accessories. Whether it's jewelry from Zoila or a great vintage piece I've collected over the years. It’s those intentional finishing touches that make an outfit feel like me.

What is your go-to outfit formula when you feel like you have nothing to wear?
A classic pair of medium-wash jeans, a great baby tee, my vintage Gucci loafers, a vintage jacket, and Zoila jewelry. That's my foolproof outfit for everything from a workday to dinner with friends.
If it's warmer out, I'll swap the loafers for flip-flops and lose the jacket, but that’s my foolproof formula that stays pretty much the same.
What's your favorite way to dress up a classic jeans and T-shirt outfit?
Jewelry, every time!
I love how jewelry can completely change the feel of a simple outfit. It adds personality, creates interest, and makes even the most minimal look feel intentional. The best part is that it's something you build over time—collecting pieces, layering them, and mixing metals and shapes depending on your mood.
I really believe you don't need a whole new wardrobe to have great style. You just need the right jewelry to style with.
Describe your perfect day in denim. Where are you going, what are you eating, and what is your outfit like?
My perfect day would be a mix of work, family, and exploring whatever city I’m in.
It would start with an iced latte before wandering through a flea market with my husband and daughter, followed by a long brunch somewhere outdoors. I'd spend the evening ideating new jewelry designs for Zoila, then finish the day with a chill dinner at home with my family, consisting of farmer’s market sashimi, incense burning, a record on, and good vibes!
I'd be wearing relaxed denim, a simple tank or tee, flip-flops, and plenty of jewelry - the kind of outfit that's comfortable enough for the whole day but still feels put together.
Are there other ways you love to express yourself artistically outside of social media and Zoila?
Honestly, Zoila is my biggest creative outlet right now. I pour so much into designing products, building the brand, creating content, and thinking about the customer experience.
Outside of that, I love collecting vintage pieces and finding inspiration through interiors, travel, architecture, and fashion. I'm constantly saving ideas and paying attention to little design details—they always seem to find their way back into the brand somehow.

How are you styling your JBD jeans this season?
This summer I'm pairing my JBD jeans with simple tanks, baby tees, flip-flops, and lots of jewelry.
Zoila just launched a collection of six beaded necklaces for summer, and they've become my go-to. They work just as well with jeans and a tee as they do with an easy evening outfit, which is exactly how I like to dress.
