How would you describe your personal style, and how has living in LA influenced the way you get
dressed?

My style has changed so much over the years, and I always struggled with trying to stick to one
“aesthetic,” because I never could decide which one felt the most me. I think only recently, and really just
as I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized I don’t have to stick to one vibe. If one day I wake up and want to wear a
sleek all black look, and the next day I want to wear feathery sleeves and pink polka dots, and the next
baggy cargo shorts and a giant T-shirt and sneakers… I can do that! Who cares? Life is too short to stick
to one thing, and exploring clothing and how you express yourself can open so many doors or help you
find new things to love. I think it’s so fun to play dress up each day, and I’ve started thinking of it like I’m a
paper doll or something. Living in a city like Los Angeles is so freeing, because you have every kind of
person and style here, so no one bats an eye at what you’re wearing. I grew up in Oklahoma, which felt
very restrictive and judgmental when it came to clothing — but being in LA has helped me realize that
every person is stylish in their own way, as long as they are wearing clothes they love and find interesting.
So who am I to judge someone’s outfit, and more importantly, who is anyone else to judge mine?

Every good LA day starts with coffee. Where are you going for the best coffee in the city, and
what’s your usual order?

If you go back into my content, and if you ask literally any person in my life, you’ll know that I. Love.
Coffee. It’s my favorite part of my day, my favorite activity, and what I always look most forward to when I
travel to a new place. My coffee shop list is detailed & extensive. Nowadays, my favorite coffee shop is…
my own. I got an espresso machine and let me tell you, I make a killer latte with homemade syrups and
everything. I love cosplaying as a barista! But if I’m going to go get coffee, my top three are as follows:
Yala — they are a Middle Eastern, immigrant-owned coffee shop in Studio City with such unique flavors,
great pastries, phenomenal coffee, and a fig and vanilla matcha that changed my life. I didn’t even like
matcha before I ordered one from here, and now I’m addicted. They make their own pistachio milk, and
paired with their salted honey latte… oh I’m drooling just writing about it.
Botanica Restaurant and Market —If I have time to go out to Silverlake, I’m going here. My favorite milk is
cashew milk, and as far as I’ve found, this is the only café in Los Angeles that offers it. It’s a homemade
cashew-date milk and I have dreams about it. You can also dine in at the restaurant, and their food is
amazing! Get the breakfast tacos.
Maru Espresso Bar — I tried Maru on a trip to LA once, and I’ve never looked back. They have a couple
locations, but when I first moved out here I lived less than a mile from the spot in Beverly Hills, and it
remains my favorite. That location has basically no seating — you just grab and go, but they really focus
on good, quality coffee and strong flavors. I feel like it’s always just undeniably good. I love their iced
vanilla bean flat white, but they’re known for their cream top.

What’s one food spot you’re actually willing to wait 30+ minutes for and what are we ordering
once we finally make it inside?

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Din Tai Fung really is all that. I had it for the first time on my birthday
last year and kind of thought it would be a funny LA bit, but I really think it is worth the notoriety. I would
wait 30+ minutes for just their chocolate dumplings alone. You have to get them with the salted cream!
Honestly, that’s the first thing I’m ordering to make sure I’m not too full by the end to eat them.

When the occasion calls for making a reservation and putting on a really good outfit, which LA
restaurant are you booking and what outfit are you throwing on?

I love Bacari! They have a handful of spots throughout the city, but my partner and I love having date
night at the Sherman Oaks location. It has great share-plates, and I’ve never had anything bad there. It’s
so cutesy too, I always think it feels like you’re in France. Theres a chic little patio with mismatched chairs
and small tables, and the inside has candles, random paintings and pictures hanging everywhere, dim
lighting, velvet couches and sometimes even live jazz. It’s not too fancy, but it’s perfect for a cool-girl outfit

—well fitting jeans, a fun top (maybe like a chic high-neck blouse?), kitten heels, and a leather jacket if
you’re sitting outside in case it gets chilly.

Give us one LA hidden gem you almost don’t want to tell us about. A shop, bar, restaurant,
neighborhood spot—anything goes.

I have two Los Angeles hidden gems, and they are polar opposite from each other (and also one of them
is not a hidden gem whatsoever, but I have to mention it). The first is Sweet Butter in Sherman Oaks. The
brunch is genuinely fantastic, they just have incredible food. You must try the blueberry pancakes!
My second hidden-not-so-hidden gem is catching a movie at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. I went last
year and saw La La Land, and it was truly magical. Watching a movie that feels like such a love letter to
Los Angeles, in the heart of Hollywood, outside on the lawn surrounded by so much history and so many
people who also love this city… it felt so surreal. Regardless of what movie you go see, I think having a
movie night there with your friends is so much fun. Get there super early, bring blankets and pillows and
games and drinks. You will not regret it.

Settle this debate: West Side or East Side? Why!

I cannot choose between West and East side. Both are so special in their own ways — and I’m not saying
that to appease the Angelinos (although if we’re being honest, I’ve been in LA for only two years, which I
don’t think means I’m even qualified to make that decision). I love the east side for vintage and thrift
stores, dive bars, and coffee. It feels a bit quieter, and a bit more niche and funky. The fashion over there
is always so iconic too, I love seeing what people are wearing. The west side is so fun for those trendier
days, more high-end or brand shopping, the beach, and cute restaurants. Being in West LA feels soooo in
your face Los Angeles, which I think is fun. You should always be a tourist in your own city, because
there’s a reason people travel here for trips. And YOU CAN’T FORGET THE VALLEY! I love living in the
valley.

When you want to move your body, where are we finding you? Give us your favorite LA workout
class, studio, hike, or walking route.

I’ve been doing Pilates for about three years now, and it has remained my favorite workout! I always feel
nice and toned and stretched out afterwards — I don’t love leaving a workout feeling overly tired or like
my body hurts, I just want to feel rejuvenated. (I tried hot yoga once, which is huge here, and I genuinely
thought I was dying…)
My top two spots in LA for Pilates are The Pilates Cave in Venice and V Studios in Calabasas.
I will say, Los Angeles has some beautiful hikes. My first date with my partner was hiking up to Griffith
Observatory, which felt so LA, and it now has such a special place in my heart. It’s a relatively short and
easy hike, and the views of the city from Griffith can’t be beat. Go to Beachwood Café after if you love
Harry Styles or just want great food.

Where do you go vintage/thrift shopping when you actually want to find something good without
breaking the bank?

There are vintage and thrift stores on nearly every corner of this city — I could only dream of going to
them all someday! My favorite local thrift is San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission: they still have thrift
store prices, but I have made some incredible finds. 100% suede skirt for $5!? Can’t be beat.
For vintage, I think Burbank consistently has the best and most affordable spots. I love Chance Vintage,
and the entire street it’s on is walking distance to tons of cool secondhand shops. Studio 228 is a new
favorite of mine too, over in Venice. It’s owned by two lovely gals who just love clothes, and their curation
is phenomenal! I just got my dream pair of bloomer capris from them. The studio is gorgeous and great
for pictures, it’s open house on Sundays or you can book an appointment to private shop throughout the
week.

You have the afternoon completely free and nowhere you need to be. What does your perfect day
wandering around LA look like? Give us the itinerary from AM to PM.

Sometimes LA is a hard place to set an itinerary, because it takes so long to get from place to place, but
let’s pretend like there is one magical day of no traffic! I would start by getting both an iced salted honey
latte AND a vanilla fig matcha at Yala — for time’s sake, I’d go to the one in Silverlake, but I usually go to
the spot in Studio City. The coffee will be gone in the first 5 minutes, so the matcha is for while I’m walking
around. From here, I’d walk around all the little shops in Silverlake. I especially love the Wasteland
Vintage over there, but there’s a ton of other small vintage and niche home décor spots, so it’s so fun to
just stroll around. From there I’d head toward WeHo to do some window shopping on Melrose or Rodeo
and grab lunch at Great White. Completely different vibe, but I love getting to have so many different
experiences in one city! After that, I can get on the PCH and head towards Malibu in time for the sunset.
There’s lots of shopping over there too, but I honestly love just driving with my windows down and taking
in the views. I would either get dinner on the Malibu Pier, which is always so good, or could head through
the canyon and go to Bacari in Sherman Oaks for dinner and drinks to end the evening!

What's your favorite beach for a long weekend, and what's your favorite snack to pick up along
the way?

If I’m going for a long weekend, I love heading outside of LA to Laguna Beach. It’s so beautiful, great
weather, incredibly peaceful. It also consistently has the best seashells, which is my favorite part of going
to the beach! Not to mention the tide pools. As a marine biology nerd, (new Lillie lore for you) I love
looking at all of the creatures and colors and life throughout the rocks. Reminder if you go tide pooling to
never touch the sea life and to leave it better than you found it! I always try to pick up trash as I go.
If I want a spot closer to home, I usually go to Leo Carillo Beach in Malibu. It’s close to all of the shops,
and the Malibu Pier has really great food.
This is once again going to sound so stereotypical Los Angeles, but we usually make a stop at a coffee
shop for iced lattes and matcha, and then hit Erewhon on the way to grab some fruit, maybe a breakfast
burrito, and of course an infamous smoothie. I hate to say it… but they are delicious.

What’s currently playing when you’re driving around the city? Give us a song—or a few—that
belong on the LA edition of our playlist series: Blue Notes.

One beautiful thing about California is that you can almost always drive around listening to music with the
windows down — one of the perks of sunshine 365. I love oldies, and right now my go-to artist is ABBA.
The Winner Takes it All and Voulez-vous are my current top two. Tiny Dancer by Elton John I’ve decided
is my anthem song… “Blue jean baby, LA lady.” That’s me!
As far as modern music, Hannah Cole is another artist I love. She actually is my best friend (my college
roommate freshman year!) and she just released her debut album, Switchbacks. It’s incredible from top to
bottom, and that’s been on repeat since it came out.
Some honorable mentions: I’m always listening to Olivia Dean; Michael Jackson’s Thriller album as we
get into the fall months; the new Olivia Rodrigo album is a masterpiece; and Djo was a top 5 listen for me
this year!

Your most stylish friend is coming to LA for the weekend. Where are you telling her to stay, and
what’s the first place you’re taking her once she drops her bags?

If my most stylish friend comes to LA, I’m telling her to stay at my place and I’m taking her to my closet…
Kidding! Well, I would definitely have my friend stay with me if possible, but if they’re getting a hotel, I
think WeHo is a great central option to most things and super walkable. Where you go next depends on
the friend. If they’ve never been to LA and want the real experience, I think going to Rodeo Drive or the
Grove is always fun. I love seeing people’s reactions when they go for the first time. It just feels so
glamorous and trendy, you almost can’t believe it exists outside of your TV screens or an influencer’s
vlog. If they’re looking for a beach day, Malibu is my favorite area for beautiful views and a little more
laidback vibe, or hitting Venice and walking down Abbot Kinney is a fun option as well!
